Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
The Twilight Saga has been an amazing success story for vampire novelist extraordinaire Stephenie Meyer. Stephenie Meyer Breaking Dawn has just hit the movie theaters (part 2 is due for release on November 16, 2002) to much fanfare and lots of ringing of cash registers.
Vampires are cool it appears? Breaking Dawn is book 4 in the Saga – and the Twilight novels collectively have sold over 100 million copies worldwide, with translations into 38 different languages, they are very popular in France for some reason, or so I’m told by my family .
Stephenie Meyer was the most successful writer in 2008 and 2009 in the USA, – 29 million books sold in 2008 and 26.5 million sold in 2009. So that means she’s doing OK for herself. If you have a novel in you then don’t hold back, who knows you may be the next outstanding success. You don’t even need an agent or a publisher as you can easily self-publish your novel for the Kindle or Nook and upload it to Amazon – Katie Klein, Amanda Hocking and many others have done just that and now they are sitting pretty, having abandoned the day jobs !
Breaking Dawn is the 4th and final novel in The Twilight Saga, split into into 3 parts, parts 1 and 3 being written from Bella’s point of view and part 2 written from Jacob’s perspective, which is all very odd but that’s vampies for you I guess.
It follows on from the events in the previous novel, Eclipse, as Bella and Edward get married, dumping a heartbroken Jacob. Bella undergoes the ultimate transformation and saves her love (maybe). The whole Twilight series is the result of a dream that Stephenie Meyer had, which is also kinda odd. So don’t rhow out your dreams with the garbage write them down in 400 page novels !
Breaking Dawn the book was released on August 2, 2008 at midnight parties in over 4,000 bookstores throughout the US. Its initial print run was 3.7 million copies, over 1.3 million were sold in the US in the first 24 hours of the book’s release – a record in first-day sales performance for the Hachette Book Group USA. The book was the third best-selling novel of 2008 behind Twilight and New Moon.
